What Academic Quality Means
Articulate one sentence that defines academic quality for your own writing.

Concept: Academic quality means writing that states a clear position, supports it with evidence and reasoning, and follows a logical structure. It does not mean perfect grammar on the first draft; it means revision toward clarity, accuracy, and coherence.
Mechanism: Quality emerges through revision. You draft a position, then check: Is it clear? Is there evidence? Does the order make sense? Research writers are precise, cautious (e.g. "may suggest" rather than "proves"), and transparent about limits.
Weak:
"AI will change everything."
Strong:
"AI tools may improve drafting efficiency when used with disclosure and when assessment focuses on reasoning." The second is qualified, specific, and defensible.
Compare your definition with a partner. Does it include clarity of idea, support, and appropriate tone?
Your definition includes at least one of: clear position, evidence, or revision.
